Blizzard’s community team posted a new set of beta development notes on 15 October. It’s a big update. Here’s what stands out.

Wands and Auto Shot need you to stand still

The headline change: you now have to stand still for half a second before a wand or Auto Shot fires, like in the original game. Hunters and wand users will feel this immediately, especially while leveling, because kiting gets harder.

Everything else in the build

  • Races: adjusted abilities for most races, including the new Skyborne.
  • Classes: changes for every class. Mages get new and redesigned spells and talents, Paladin blessings change, and Priest and Warlock talents are reworked. Shamans see totem and talent changes.
  • New player tutorial: a guided introduction for anyone new to WoW.
  • Hunters: a toggle for auto attack and Auto Shot, including on gamepad.
  • Graphics: a bloom intensity slider, and a fix for fog at low shadow settings.
  • PvP: Battleground Marks of Honor now stack to 30, up from 20.
  • World: Horde players can no longer roam Dalaran’s open world.

Read the full notes on Blizzard’s forums for every detail; we’ve only picked out the changes most players will notice.
