Image: Blizzard EntertainmentPaladin is the last class to get a deep dive from Blizzard ahead of the 4 November launch. Seals and Judgements stay, but plenty around them has moved. Everything is still in beta, so numbers can change.
Changes for every Paladin
- Talents start at level 10, and Dual Specialization unlocks at level 40.
- Consecration is now baseline at level 20, and Holy Strike arrives at level 6.
- Judgement no longer uses up your active Seal.
- Lay on Hands drops from a 1-hour cooldown to 20 minutes.
- Salvation is no longer a Blessing, so it can sit alongside one.
- Resistance Auras reach raid members within 30 yards.
- Seal Twisting isn’t baseline any more; Retribution gets it back through a talent.
Seal of Fury: a proper tanking seal
The new Seal of Fury, learned at level 10, adds Holy damage to every melee swing and gives you a small absorb shield based on that damage. Its Judgement also taunts from 10 yards, further than Growl or Taunt.
Spec highlights
- Holy: Holy Shock moves deeper into the tree with a much shorter 10-second cooldown, and a new top talent, Light’s Vigil, can heal your group or hurt enemies.
- Protection: Templar’s Bulwark is a big emergency absorb on a 5-minute cooldown, and Swift Judgement resets Judgement on demand.
- Retribution: Twist of Light brings back seal twisting with cheaper seals, and Sacred Arbiter makes Holy Strike refresh every Judgement on the target, even ones from other Paladins.
